Environmental Noise
Traffic Noise Monitoring
For road traffic noise monitoring, a microphone is positioned at a given point next to a highway or major road, and a sound level meter is used to record level fluctuations as well as actual sound at the site. With a constant monitoring system, interval measurement is also possible. Noise events are detected automatically and evaluated to determine whether they are aircraft noise.
Environmental Noise Monitoring
Use the general-purpose sound level meter NL-42 or high-precision sound level meter NL-52 for monitoring environmental noise.
Environmental Noise monitoring allows the user to ensure comfort of the residents residing in the area as well as make measurements for auditing purposes.
Aircraft Noise Monitoring
For aircraft noise monitoring, a microphone is positioned in the vicinity of the airport or at a point in the flight path, and a sound level meter is used to record level fluctuations as well as actual sound at the site. In a constant monitoring system, noise events are detected automatically from level fluctuations and are evaluated to determine whether they are aircraft noise. A system for detecting ground-level sound events occurring at airports can also be configured.
Railway Noise Monitoring
Use a sound level meter and environmental measurement data management software to measure sound events at a railway trunk line.
Sound monitoring can ensure compliance with regulations as the Railway line passes through urban areas. It also allows the Railways to ensure comfort of the passengers travelling inside the compartments on long journeys.
Factory Noise Monitoring
Use a sound level meter to monitor factory sounds at the boundary of the site. To ensure compliance with local zoning and noise regulations it is important to measure sound in a factory complex.
Recording of Noise incidents can aid in post incident analysis of potential problem areas in an occupied complex.
Construction Activity Noise Monitoring
Use a sound level meter to monitor noise from construction activities.
With increasing Land area under development it becomes important to monitor the noise produced during construction activities to ensure that local residents are not affected adversely.
Better monitoring and regulation of Noise levels during Construction can also be viewed as a step towards ensuring urban health as a whole.
